as a libertarian, I have to agree with Chavez's assessment of the far right. and I'm no fan of Clinton, but every chart I've looked at of national debt shows it going *down* during his administration. I'd class this article as "divisive rhetoric".

I am trying to understand the logic of throwing an election right back in the lap that stands exactly opposite of where your candidate stands... I am aggravated at the GOP myself but I am more aggravated at the dang socialists trying to take over this country and I won't give the chief marxist Barrack Hussein Obama a vote because I am mad.

I do not care who is your favorite candidate , this process is BS there should NOT be mistakes like this allowed in a process that is this vital to our Republic, that is if we want to continually live in a Republic.. of which I personally do. I have served and defended this country and honorable men and women have bled and died to preserve our right to have this process. Now everybody take a deep breath and get your act together. The eyes of our nation are upon you, get it right the first time, before you go out and announce your favorite to be the winner.

YES, and in addition there should be complete transparency with video of all and absolutely NO BALLOTS OUT OF SIGHT until the results are announced! Also a representative of each candidate should be present with nothing hidden. Britain and almost every other country, other than a few third world countries, use ONLY paper ballots. No machines. What is the problem here? Every single American who wants fair elections should DEMAND this of all parties!

How would a libertarian possibly appeal to religionists like that... I think you're greatly mistaken on the whole point of his canidancy. He his very strong on defense but I have a feeling that your definition of defense has nothing to do with defending and a lot more to do with discrimination!

The GOP is not appealing to strong on defense voters. You're hearing no talk about the threat of Islamism, or fighting back against these barbarians who want to force our wives and girlfriends to wear ugly black burkas. As a result, the whole anti-Islamic Jihad vote is un-enthused in this election cycle. There's a whole big block of anti-Islamist voters out there who are going to have nobody to vote for in November. Gary Johnson on the Libertarian ticket ought to make an appeal to these voters.

Dead on! Demographics are killing this party. They may blame it on the candidates currently running, but that's the point. None of them appeal beyond the old white archetype with the exception of Ron Paul who himself is both old and white. And while Ron Paul at least appeals better to younger voters, his strange bedfellows like Lew Rockwell make it impracticable for him to ever appeal to minorities.

The establishment has hijacked the movement. Any group is vulnerable to being hijacked by the federal government to suppress liberty. I don't think they'd be able to hijack the libertarian movement though, because it would create so much cognitive dissonance that the takeover would be rejected.

The republican party is lead by blindly social conservatives who ensures their campaign coffers are filled by the war monger industry which greatly benefits from the US being a police state!!! We see it and are tired of it, so are not even trying ESPECIALLY when your top runners are yahoos like Romney and Santorum! I wonder how the Libertarian Party's numbers are doing?
